Well, I hate to say that i was right, but I WAS right. I guessed The Executioner from the very first episode. It was one of the people who seemed the least likely to be the killer and the one who seemed to have no motive.
If you were looking for any great unmasking or reveal, you'll be disappointed. The whole Season or is it Series finale? is about the killer. However, there really is no really motive for the killings or the Biblical 7 Deadly Sins. In a town full of sinners and only 7 sins to kill for, what's a psychotic maniac to do?
I hate when you watch a whole series just to be left high and dry at the end. "Slasher" was just like "Scream The TV Series" and "Scream Queens".. Very predictable killers and very sad and lukewarm finales. It makes you feel duped and a little angry for wasting your time, loyally and religiously watching a show that really doesn't give back even half the effort, that the viewer themselves put into it. I think we the viewers are owed more for our loyalty and commitment to a show like "Slasher".
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the show and I enjoyed the ride but in the end I really don't feel like my time was well spent.
I wish "Slasher" would have been better written and produced. It needed a stronger, more involved story line that actually made sense. I just don't think there was any real justification for any of the murders except for the ones made by the original executioner, Tom.
The ending was a total joke. I don't think anyone is going to care to see how that little girl grows up to be a twisted psychopath...but If this was only the Season finale and not the Series finale, then I guess we are in for another season of "Slasher". The funny thing is that I'll probably watch it, despite my utter disappointment in this first season.
