MOVIE REVIEW: CLOWN

I'M NOT CLOWNING AROUND WHEN I SAY "CLOWN" IS A BIT OF A JOKE!
Eli Roth, made famous for the torture porn classic "Hostel", has made a movie about a possessed, child eating clown. Sound original? Trust me , it's not. From the first frame to the last, it feels like you are watching one big, long , extended episode of "The Twilight Zone" or "Takes From The Darkside". There is nothing new, unique or exciting here. There is absolutely zero character development, so you could care less about any of the characters. It's too simplistic in it's simplicity, that you might find yourself dying of boredom in places, just waiting for the action to happen.

The craziest part of it all, is that "Clown" was filmed in 2012, released in the film festival circut a few years ago, is available online to watch or download and is also available on DVD, yet still they plan to release it in theaters on June 17th of this year!

Is it me, or does that seem not only redundant but completely ludicrous?

The only thing that I give this movie credit for, is tackling the very taboo subject of children being murdered and mutilated on film. Not many films have dared to go there, so kudos for the ballsy move on Roth's part.

Quite frankly, the movie is just not one of Roth's finest moments. If you are looking for "Hostel" then "Hostel" it ain't!
