I AM AN ID JUNKIE!
I AM AN (I.D.) INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY JUNKIE!
How times have changed. Only some short years ago I used to be terrified to watch Unsolved Mysteries or any true crime TV. The very second I heard the Unsolved Mysteries theme song or heard Robert Stack's creepy voice, I ran to change the channel. Now, I'm totally addicted to every single true crime, serial killer, twisted murder mystery show that I can get my hands on. I just love the drama and the mystery of it all. How incredible science and forensics is. How far we have come in our scientific and biological evolution. How really sick and twisted the human mind can be. I love the "who done it" twists and turns mysteries.
Don't get me wrong, I still love my Paranormal shows and can't get enough, but I'm now an avid and highly addicted ID junkie and proud of it!!!!
YOU'LL DANCE TO ANYTHING
YOU'LL DANCE TO ANYTHING
I love this classic song from the 80's and have the CD single. It pokes fun at the new wave subculture at the time. The lyrics are clever and funny and in a lot of ways, true..lol
A lot of the greats are credited like: SIOUXSIE, The Communards, Book of Love The Smiths, Depeche Mode Sk, Public Image Limited and Naked Truth (which I never heard of). I looked them up and they were a local US band that The Dead Milkmen must have personally known. They were not New Wave, more rock, sort of alternative, from the 60's but hit bigger in the 80's. Technically, mentioning them in the song was a bit strange because they were not European, and that was the main political slant of the track, as they eloquently display in the closing lyrics of the song.
"You'll dance to anything by any bunch of stupid Europeans who come over here
with their big hairdos intent on taking our money instead of giving your
cash, where it belongs, to a decent American artist like myself!"
DEAD MILKMEN LYRICS
"Instant Club Hit (You'll Dance To Anything)"
You'll dance to anything [x4]
Oh, baby, look at you
Don't you look like Siouxsie Sioux
How long'd it take to get that way
What a terrible waste of energy
You wear black clothes say you're poetic
The sad truth is you're just pathetic
Get into the groove just get out of my way
I came here to drink not to get laid
So why don't you just go on home
'Cause if you want to moan you'll have to moan alone
You'll dance to anything [x2]
Don't try to tell me that you're an intellectual
Cause you're just another boring bisexual
"I met Andy Warhol at a really chic party"
Blow it out your hairdo 'cause you work at Hardees
80 pounds of make up on your art school skin
80 points of I.Q. located within
Know what you are? You're a bunch of ...
Artfags! Artfags! Artfags! Artfags!
Choke on this you dance-a-teria types!
You'll dance to anything by The Communards
You'll dance to anything by Book of Love
You'll dance to anything by The Smiths
You'll dance to anything by Depeche Mode
You'll dance to anything by Public Image Limited
You'll dance to anything by Naked Truth
You'll dance to anything by any bunch of stupid Europeans who come over here
with their big hairdos intent on taking our money instead of giving your
cash, where it belongs, to a decent American artist like myself!
You'll dance to anything!

MOVIE REVIEW: SCARECROW (2013)
STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK YOUR BONES BUT EVIL SCARECROWS WILL KILL YOU!
Sometimes Syfy does it right with their killer monster movies. Though "Scarecrow" was nothing special, I still really enjoyed it. If you are not a fan of CGI, you will most probably hate this movie. It's a CGI's fan's wet dream. However, I really think it works. Instead of a traditional looking killer Scarecrow ( which has already been done to death) this "Scarecrow" is a really cool looking monster.
The plot, like most Syfy monster movies, is very simple and to the point.
A young woman Kristen (Lacey Chabert "Black Christmas (2006), Family Guy (TV Series)
Meg Griffin / Jan Brady and a ton of Lifetime and Hallmark Channel Holiday movies) returns to her small hometown, only to find that a family curse that was supposedly long dead and buried, is back to continue to wipe out her family's lineage. What seemed like an innocent, detention day trip, will be their last, for a group of unsuspecting high school kids.

The legend of the Scarecrow is true and is seeking it's bloody revenge. It will kill anything or anyone that stands in the way of it taking young Kristen's life.
One by one, the Scarecrow slices and dices through her ex boyfriends and the innocent school children.
When only Kristen and the Scarecrow remain, it is a bloody battle until the very end.
By the way, if the only way the Scarecrow can die, is to be buried, then I guess the Scarecrow isn't really dead?
Who knows if Syfy plans on making a sequel or not? I'd probably watch it as I really enjoyed this one.
There is of course a gaggle of sexy male eye candy like Aaron (Robert Dunne, "Dawson's Creek, Sanctuary (TV Series) and Defiance (TV Series) Eddie (Carlo Marks "Smallville (TV Series) and Daevon (Reilly Dolman "Goblin" and Supernatural (TV Series).
Again "Scarecrow" is nothing that special, that you haven't already seen ad nauseam in many Syfy and Chiller TV , monster movies, but I can say, it was definitely one of the better ones.

MOVIE REVIEW: DARK RIDE
I SAW THIS MOVIE BEFORE, IT WAS CALLED THE FUNHOUSE
I guess there really is not much left in the way of originality in Hollywood these days. Even though "Dark Ride" is from 2006, "The Funhouse" was from 1981. They basically took the idea of "The Funhouse" and just added the escaped mental patient angle, which by the way, was also stolen from the horrendous remake of "Black Christmas" , ironically released in the same year 2006. In fact, the scene in the mental institution, where the orderlies are taunting the "monster" has been done ad nauseum. Basically everything else was ripped off from Dean Koontz (Owen West)' s 1980 novel "The Funhouse" which was made into an instant horror classic by Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Tobe Hooper. Though arguably, the book "The Funhouse" by Dean Koontz (Owen West) is far better than the movie and quite frankly, makes more sense. I feel that Tobe Hooper really missed the boat on making "The Funhouse" everything that it could have been, by omitting so much of the backstory and yet leaving all of these loose ends and unanswered questions. That being said, I still think it is a horror/slasher classic. i would love to see someone properly remake "The Funhouse", base it more on Dean Koontz (Owen West)'s book and not the movie. But I digress... " Dark Ride" even featured a character called "Liz" just like in the "The Funhouse".
Unlike " The Funhouse" this was a very noticeable and cheap knockoff. A group of friends decide to spend the night in a Funhouse and they die at the hands of a masked monster.. There is a creepy old barker, there is the story of two brothers, one was a Mongoloid ( just like Gunther in "The Funhouse". They slightly spun that one a bit. Instead of the other brother being dead in a jar, as in "The Funhouse", the other brother was alive and just happened to be one of their friends. His revelation that he was the brother of the serial killing, murderous, mask wearing psychopath, was supposed to be the surprising, red herring, plot twist. However, it wasn't as you saw it coming from a mile away. Also, ( HUGE continuity issue) the fact that he said he was related to the twin teenage girls in the beginning (his cousins) made absolutely no sense? Especially because the twin girls clearly did not know him or the barker and had never been on the "Dark Ride" before.
Besides the whole plot being stolen and regurgitated, "Dark Ride" was a long trip into snooze town. You'd be much better off spending your precious time, watching a true horror classic like "The Funhouse" than wasting your time watching a cheap and pathetic knock off like "Dark Ride".
The worst part, was that it really wasn't intense or even remotely scary.
For me, the biggest draw, was the super hot and sexy David Clayton Rogers (Nashville (TV Series),Jane by Design (TV Series) , and the gay camp Boys Life 4: Four Play ). It also featured Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Guys with Kids (TV Series) ,Ugly Betty (TV Series) ,The Sopranos (TV Series) and Entourage (TV Series) .

CATFISH WILL BREAK YOUR HEART
CATFISH WILL BREAK YOUR HEART
I have seen the hit TV show on MTV "Catfish" many times. It's crazy and chaotic but pretty enjoyable. Though, I never watched it religiously, there's just not enough time in the day to watch everything I'd like to watch. As it is, my 1 TB DVR is at 93% . I always hear the gorgeous Nev or Max referring to the movie but never had a chance to see it. When it was on today, I decided to tape and watch it. "Catfish" is not a movie, per se, it is more of a real life, documentary. I'll be honest with you, at first I thought that it was this long and boring piece of crap but then it got crazy and interesting, just like the TV show (though the movie came first). When I watch the TV show or even the movie, I think "wow, how can anybody be that stupid"? I then remember that I myself, have been catfished in different ways, on a few separate occasions. In fact, one was so bad that the guy actually faked his own death. This was ages ago, in the early 90's. That guy, was a sick and twisted f@#K. But, I digress.
Once Nev started questioning things that seemed a bit off, it was all downhill from there. Nev knew that he was being deceived but he was not sure to what degree. The innocent film that Nev's brother set out to make about a talented 8 year old artist "Abby", quickly took a mysterious and sinister turn. Just when you think you had it all figured out, the real Megan or should I say, Angela ? threw Nev for another loop. When Nev finally meets and confronts Angela the real truth, or at least, most of it, comes pouring out. Angela's family and her personal story, will literally have you in tears. I cried so much. Warning: there is no happy ending. It is all very sad. Deception is not proud or pretty. It is sad, lonely and heartbreaking.
I really feel that people need to not only see films like "Catfish" but they need to truly experience them. It is devastating to think about how many lonely and desperate people are out there in the world. Afraid or ashamed to be themselves. Hiding behind fantasies and mysterious personas, in a futile attempt to be something better than they are today. "Catfish" will hit home for anybody who has ever wanted to be someone else, even for a day. After watching "Catfish" I feel like my views on catfishers has changed. Instead of thinking of them as pathetic losers, I have more compassion and empathy for them. It's awful when you hate yourself or your life so much, that you have create a fantasy world in order to survive. In the movie, Angela's husband Vince, explained catfishing the best.
I think, to some degree, there's a little catfish in us all.
My heart goes out to Angela, Vince and their family.

IT'S 666 TODAY ( well, sort of)
There are three 6's in today's date 6-6-16
Though technically it actually happened in June of 2006.. 6-6-6
666 (six hundred sixty-six) is the natural number following 665 and preceding 667. Six hundred and sixty-six is called the "number of the beast" in (most manuscripts of) chapter 13 of the Book of Revelation, of the New Testament, and also in popular culture.

ATTENTION! : IF YOU ONLY READ ONE POST TODAY, LET THIS BE IT!
The world is in chaos. People are angry, hurting and in pain. Shows like "The Walking Dead" have showed us a glimpse of a very real future, not of a possible zombie apocalypse but of us losing our very humanity.
Social media, is much more powerful and dangerous that we could ever have imagined. People think that they are safe to say, post and do whatever they want with no filter and no consequences. However, people get hurt and even die, over Facebook, Twitter and Instagram comments and posts. Watch shows like " The Internet Ruined My Life" or "Web Of Lies". You think you know people. You think that most people might be good, honest, loving, caring people but you'd be dead wrong! Sadly, we have already lost our humanity. We've lost our ability to communicate. We are nasty, rude, immature and irresponsible. We say things to people online, that we would not dare say to someone's face. We comment on peoples posts, not thinking or caring how it might make them feel. We are condescending, hurtful and insulting to others that we might be jealous of. We take out our own frustrations and anger on total strangers, because we think it makes us feel better to make others feel bad. We fear what we do not like or understand. We force our beliefs and values on others and get angry if they do not accept or agree with us. We threaten, harass and troll friends, enemies and complete strangers. We take everything incredibly personally and we strike back, like a deadly snake, venom dripping, and yet we recoil in fear and surprise when they strike back?
I have fallen victim to Internet trolls and freaks, who like to instigate, stir up trouble and bully. I'm embarrassed to say, that I have first hand experience at attacking back like a angry wounded animal. If you post or comment, do not be surprised that people might attack you or hurt your feelings. People do not care who you are or how you feel. They don't care if you are suffering from an illness, you just lost your job, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband or wife. They don't care if you have a sick child, parent or spouse or don't know where your next rent or meal is going to come from. Humans are derived directly from animals. We all have that animalistic instinct to protect ourselves and our territory. Grown men and women say and do the nastiest things to complete strangers online, without any sense of responsibility or accountability. No wonder so many people despise people, because a lot of people these days are deplorable. Just understand, that no one is safe from persecution, bigotry, oppression, ridicule, hated, racism, rejection and violence. It's how we choose to react that is the key. Trust me, you WILL be tempted to defend your point, fight back and spend hours arguing with a mentally insane and possibly psychotic stranger. But why? Why should you care or even waste your time? It's just not worth it. We are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Only you can make that choice. The next time some complete f@#ktard tries to bait or troll you by saying something nasty or posting something offensive and hurtful. Just ask yourself "is it worth it?". The answer will always be NO! Don't comment, fight or get involved. You cannot reason with crazy. You will never win, so why even try? A good, healthy debate can be both mentally stimulating and rewarding, yet there is a difference between having tea with a madman and a debate with your intellectual equal.
I get so angry with myself when I break my own rules. DO NOT respond to trolls, freaks or people who disrespect you or try to bait you..PERIOD!
Lately, I have gotten personally attacked by total strangers over my posts, comments, music, musical, tv and movie tastes and judged on artwork I did when I was just a child. People send guided missiles with the intent to hurt you just to make themselves feel better. DO NOT fall for it or be drawn in. It's just not worth it. You do not have to "lighten up" when someone attacks you personally. That is just their immature and twisted way of taking any responsibility or accountability off of them for their negative comments or actions. The best way, is no way at all. Meaning. DO NOT respond to ass@#les! It will save you lots of time, energy and problems. People feel the need to weigh in on every little post. They always have to have the last word. They are always right and never wrong. They are born bullies. They love to annoy, hurt and terrorize. They are sick, sad and disturbed. You will never change them nor should you care. People are easily offended and intimidated. The way I usually post or comment is with total confidence and honesty. I am very secure in myself, my values, morals, thoughts and feelings. I treat people the way I would want to be treated with care and respect. I am human, I mess up too occasionally but I try to remember that people are people. I do not have to like them, know them or talk to them. If people like or appreciate my posts or comments, great. I am grateful and thankful to them. If people want to insult me and try to start a fight or an argument with me, I just simply walk away.
Ain't nobody got time for dat!
Love yourself, love others who are good to you. Forget the people who disrespect and hurt you. Spread love, not anger and hate. It's simple, just do it!
To quote Depeche Mode, get the balance right "be responsible, respectable, stable but gullible, concerned and caring, help the helpless
But always remain ultimately selfish".
Respect yourself and others. Take care of you, mind your own business, don't worry about what others are doing, just do your own thang. One simple rule to get along and play nice with others "DON'T BE AN ASS@#LE!

MOVIE REVIEW: LOST IN THE DARK
IS THE 80'S DEAD OR JUST LOST AFTER DARK ?
I'm still trying to figure out what I think of this movie " Lost After Dark". I can honestly say that I didn't totally hate it.
Let me point out the things that I didn't like first. There was next to no character development, so you really could care less about any of the characters. The only character that they tried to give a story to, didn't matter, because she was slaughtered first ( and I MEAN slaughtered!).
They tried their best to do what they could to try to give this movie an 80's retro feel. I feel like in some ways, they tried too hard. I thought I was going to be seeing the girls carrying around Cabbage Patch Kids dolls and yes, there was a Rubix Cube. They should have used cameras or film to really give it that retro look. A great example of a newer film that looks like it was from yesteryear, is "The House Of The Devil".
The all original soundtrack was cheesy but passable. The acting wasn't as terrible as a lot of horror movies. The killer looked like Rob Zombie or at least his brother. However, I'd like to say that under all that beard and mess, ole Junior Joad really cleans up well. He is actually the totally HOT actor, Mark Wiebe. I loved him in the Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas movie " A Very Merry Mix Up". Though Mark and most of the other cast members are newer to the movie game, they did manage to secure one really big name. Robert Patrick. You might remember him from ( Terminator 2, The Unit, X Files, True Blood, Sons of Anarchy and a million other big moves and TV shows). Robert played Mr. C, an Ex Vietnam War vet, now turned fast car driving, disco blasting, High School Principal.
I know that they wanted to do something clever by having the film look melted and say "Reel Missing" when the girl gets her foot caught in a bear trap ( the second bear trap used in the movie, btw) but I think we the viewers felt a bit cheated, since there was no way she could have gotten out of that situation, especially with the sexy Mark.. err I mean Junior right on top of her. Also, was this girl made of steel? She basically had tiny ankle socks on and skin tight spandex pants. A bear trap would have ripped her foot and leg to shreds, yet, not only does she run and get along really well, but she manages to fall off a roof of a house and still keeps on getting on? I do not think so. On the upside, if she wanted to audition for "Fame" or "Flashdance" she'd be ready to go!
You have eight of the dumbest and the worst friends a friend could ever have, who obviously all live by the motto, "everyone for themselves"! Let's let our friend get strung up like a mutilated scarecrow but save our own asses instead. The "tough girl" just stands there as her friend gets his eye slowly impaled on a broken window ( that looked more like a knife than a shard of glass, btw). I mean, she could have filed and painted her nails in the time it took him to get killed. Yet she just stood there watching and screaming. Completely useless.
Until the movie really starts going (i.e. the murders, about the middle to the end) it is one long, drawn out boring movie. This would have been a great chance to do that character development that they never do. Unless of course you count the one girl saying "oh yeah, by the way, my sister went missing and this peace sign necklace belongs to her, because I gave it to her". Of course, her wonderful friends really don't even care and the subject is dropped.
These were some cold, unfeeling teenagers. I mean, the one girl broke her own cute little doggie's neck to save her own life. That's one cold ass b@#ch. Wait, is this the cast of teens from "The Rivers Edge"?
Now onto the things I did like. There were some pretty good kills. The HOT hunk, Mark Wiebe was in it. Oh did I mention that Mark Wiebe was in it? Of course, the brilliant Robert Patrick , some super groovy and totally rad disco music. Though it sounded more contemporary than retro, but I'll let that one go.
I LOVE the 80's New Wave song " I'm Not There" by John Kessler,Ariel Rechtshaid and Justin Raisen, that was used in the film. Though it is not an official release, I was able to find it. It's awesome!
Also interesting to note, Every male victim is named after a slasher film director (i.e. - Wes 'Craven', Johnnie 'Carpenter', Tobe 'Hooper', Sean 'Cunningham'). Every female is named after a final girl actress from the classics (Heather 'Lagenkamp', Jamie 'Lee Curtis', Marilyn 'Burns', Adrienne 'King').
All in all, it's not the greatest, could be better, enjoyable and watchable.
My biggest complaint is that we did not get to see a shirtless Mark Wiebe. Now c'mon guys, that's a total waste of pure eye candy.
