BOUND TO VENGEANCE IS A TRIP TO DISTURBIA
This was a movie that was very unexpected. From reading the synopsis, I thought it was a totally different film than it turned out to be. This was not a horror movie as it had been advertised as. "Bound To Vengeance" is unlike any movie of it's kind that I've ever seen. It is not original in it's concept but in it's execution.
The basic idea is a young woman ( Eve) is abducted and held in a underground bunker by a sexual predator. She escapes and forces her abductor to lead her to the many other women he has kidnapped and is holding captive. One by one, she goes through a series of numbered Polaroids and forces her assailant to show her where these women are being kept. However, there is much more than meets the eye about these other captives. In the end, is a very true and disturbing reality that is happening in our world today.
Eve soon learns that there is no one she can trust but her gun. She exacts her revenge and her own brand of justice as a one woman rescue squad. The truth is much bigger and more disturbing that she could have ever imagined.
It's another powerful and strong willed female lead movie like "Hush" or "Kristy". The movie just jumps into action almost immediately and doesn't let up. It is an intense, edge of your seat, thrill ride that keeps you captive, until the very end. The plot twist, if you want to call it a twist, is a bit predictable. Only because there were many vivid clues and signals leading up to it.

SPOILER ALERT!

The ending was strange, to say the least. I can't figure out if she let him go or she killed his family?

All in all, it was a really well made thriller.

MOVIE REVIEW: THE TORTURED

THE TORTURED WILL MAKE YOUR SKIN CRAWL
This sad, heartbreaking and utterly disturbing movie is truly torture porn. What should you expect though, from the producers of SAW?
Unlike a lot of torture porn movies, "The Tortured" really can't be lumped into that category. It plays out more like a really gory and intense episode of TV's "Criminal Minds" than a traditional torture porn movie. The premise is simple. A child killer abducts a child right in front of his father, from his own front yard. He tortures and kills the little boy. Despite being caught red handed, but sadly, after he had freshly killed their son, he is apprehended. The killer pleads innocent but is found to be responsible for the death and mutilation of countless other child victims. In order to give the families of the dead children closure and under pressure from the DA, they strike a deal with the killer and he only receives 25 years to life. Meaning, he could be set free in as little as ten years.
Fearing that he could be set free to repeat his atrocities, the young parents of the slain child devise a plan to abduct, torture and kill their son's killer.
It stars well known TV actors Erika Christensen ( Parenthood), and the smokin' hot Jesse Metcalfe ( Desperate Housewives) as well as a gaggle of several other familiar TV faces.
The torture and gore are amped up to some very unsettling degrees. At times, I found myself literally squirming in my seat.
Though Erika Christensen and Jesse Metcalfe's characters are essentially the victims in the equation, their eye for an eye approach, makes you question, who is the real bad guys here.
I think this would be a great movie for the victims of any crime that they feel was unjust and the perpetrator was not fairly punished.
However, there is a major plot twist or in this case, a red herring that you could never have seen coming, that will make you sick to your stomach. I'll be honest with you, I'm still not exactly sure of what happened? You think you know because they show you. But then, at the last minute, they flip the script on you and end the movie cold. It leaves you with many questions and wondering what did you just watch? If you think the ending is as simple as they show you at the end in the recap, rewind the ending again to the revelation and then you'll see. I can't tell you what I think happened, because it might ruin the movie for everyone. However, rather cryptically, I will say, things are not necessarily what they seem and people might be more guilty of things that they haven't even being convicted of yet. See, I've already said too much.
"The Tortured" is a good movie, especially if you like shows like "Criminal Minds". But, make no mistake.. there WILL be blood!

HUSH IS NOTHING TO KEEP QUIET ABOUT!
A friend recently suggested that I see the movie "Hush (2016). I am elated at how great this movie is. There are many movies out there called "Hush" so make sure that you are watching the new one from 2016 (cover art attached).
There has been many movies about deaf and blind people being stalked by psychotic maniacs like "See No Evil aka Blind Terror (1971)", "Eyes of A Stranger (1981)", "Blind Fear (1989)" In the Dark (TV Movie 2013)" " Jennifer 8" "Blindsided" and of course, the classic "Wait Until Dark (1967) " starring Audrey Hepburn.
The fact that Maddie in "Hush" can't hear or scream, just amps up the terror and the intensity level.
The premise is simple, a masked psychotic killer, "seemingly randomly" shows up on Maddie's doorstep. When he sees that she is deaf, a deadly game of cat and muse ensues. Maddie's not about to die a grisly death without a fight. She proves that even though she lives with a disability,due to a tragic childhood accident she does not let that stop her from living her life as a strong independent woman and writer. My only complaint is that the killer is unmasked far to early in the movie, so we can see his face. At this point he becomes more human and not as disturbing as he would have been as an anonymous masked assailant, as say movies like "The Strangers" or "Kristy".
If you liked "Hush" then you will love "Kristy".

MOVIE REVIEW: # HORROR

SO AWFUL, IT WILL WANT TO MAKE YOU SLAP TARA'S MAMA!

I can not believe how incredibly painful it was to watch this ridiculous pile of cinematic garbage. Unless you like watching little twelve year old girls take selfies of themselves, play dress up and trash each other, then you might want to totally avoid this embarrassing mess. I wonder of the creator Tara Subkoff has a day job? because film making isn't her forte, I'm afraid. Maybe the Disney Channel or Nickelodeon is hiring? I also wonder how Tara got some relatively big names like Timothy Hutton, Chloë Sevigny and Balthazar Getty to be a part of this joke? I wonder if they were friends with Tara and did it to be nice or if rent was due, or maybe they were abducted at gunpoint and forced to make this movie? Whatever the case, this is one movie that they should put wayyyyy in the back of their professional repertoire. Better yet, just omit it completely, like it never happened.
To be fair, the little girls could act. They were real and believable, maybe a little too believable. There is all this insane hashtag nonsense that keeps exploding all over the screen like a bad video game. In fact, they really took the cartoon-ish video game theme too far over the edge for my taste. The movie tries to be artsy fartsy but ends up just being fartsy.
If you care, here is a very brief synopsis of what you are NOT missing.
A pack of dysfunctional, rich, little brats, text on their phones, giggle, play dress up, take tons of selfies and make a sport out of trashing each other to the extreme. They throw in an urban legend about a frustrated artist that went insane and killed a bunch of people in the house where the leader of the mean girls lives.
You are praying the whole movie to see these little annoying brats bite the dust. One by one, they start to get killed off. It's totally predictable. In the worst role that Timothy Hutton has ever played, h really overacts to the extreme. There are times when I almost turned it off because it was so annoying. I had to rewind several times because I kept falling asleep, only to find , that just like a daytime soap opera, I did not miss a thing.
If you are totally bored and have nothing better to do and like watching crap ooze from your TV, phone or computer, then I guess #Horror is for you. Otherwise, avoid this mess like the plague.

I'd like to take you back to a time where there was no TV or Internet and radio was a magical and wondrous thing. Families would gather round the radio to hear their favorite shows come alive and visualize about the incredible sights they were hearing . That is the same kind of experience that I want my listeners to have. It is not just a radio show, it is an auditory experience that you must hear to believe! No jukebox or play list here simply playing music, this is full on sensory deprivation with NO back up drugs!

I'm extremely proud of all of my shows, especially these last two. It was a shiteload of work. This is my statement, my message to the world, my art. Like it or don't, I'm glad that I did it and that I could share it with whomever wants to experience it. A lot of these songs and this culture has shaped me into the person I am today. It is deeply personal and is an extension of myself.

I hope you all enjoy it and get something positive out of it. I can assure you that you have never heard a radio show like these. DARK SANCTUARY RADIO is another part of my legacy.

MOVIE REVIEW: KRISTY

EXCELLENT HORROR MOVIE..WATCH IT NOW!!!!!
THE HUNTERS..BECOME THE HUNTED!
When I saw this movie previewed on Lifetime, I really wanted to see it. It must have been an accident, because Lifetime either never showed it or only showed it once and I missed it. Lifetime shows movies multiple times and "Kristy" was never repeated? Anyway, I just watched "Kristy" tonight and it was EXCELLENT!!!!!.. It is the best horror/suspense thriller I have seen in years! Absolutely brilliant!!!!
All horror movie makers take note, this is how to make a REAL horror movie. "Kristy" should be the blueprint to the future of horror movies. It has everything, horror, action, suspense, blood and gore.
Think "The Strangers" meet " Halloween H20" and "Pranks" meets "Last Hill On The Left" and very much "Your Next".

Unlike all of those movies, "Kristy" had something extra special. Almost the whole movie was an intense, edge of your seat, nail-biting, cat and mouse thrill ride.

This is the kind of movie you can watch again and again. The only thing that really is disturbing is, that I'm afraid that "Kristy" might start something bad in the world. People are sick and that's what make "Kristy" so real.

I am a HUGE horror movie fan for years. I think that the horror genre has become lazy and severely lacks in creativity. Though "Kristy" is nothing new, it puts the horror back into horror movies. "Kristy" reminds me of the magic of classic horror movies like "Halloween" ( and not Rob Zombie's massacre of it)

Don't forget to watch the very end after the credits for an extra scare of possible things to come!!!

"Kristy" gets 5 stars with me. My hat is off to everyone involved in "Kristy".
